When you’re an alien from the far side of the galaxy trying to stay hidden, it’s important to keep a low profile.

Since escaping the aliens that destroyed her home world, Teri Night has fled to the other side of the galaxy, starting her life over and living off the grid as a retriever, a hired thief. Using her special abilities to work her jobs with little fuss or mess left behind, she hoped that no one would ever discover her secret.

But after her latest job—to retrieve a stone artifact from the planet Thetas 5—leads to her being framed for releasing a dangerous parasite on the planet, she knows that her secrets are about to be exposed, and worse, the same aliens that destroyed her home world have arrived.

Barely avoiding capture, she boards the luxury passenger ship, The Lexington, hoping to arrive at her destination where she can deliver the artifact and collect her money, before she goes into hiding.

But she’s in for a surprise when her partner messages her that the job’s not over. After finding out that the second phase of the plan takes place on the ship, Teri knows the risks are too high, and decides to lie low.

Her plans are dealt a blow when she accidentally gains the attention of the royal prince of Larida, his suspicious guards, and the dangerous Lieutenant Commander of the ship.

Confident she can handle this newest wrinkle, things take a downward turn when she learns that the object she carries is driving people to commit acts of violence and that it has awakened a dangerous adversary from her past.

With forces closing in on her from all sides, she must decide whether to make a deal with the enemy that destroyed her world, or risk exposure to save the lives of all onboard.
